eCommunity Broadband Utility

A2D’s broadband utility, which includes our turnkey network design and implementation strategy coupled with a sustainable business model, was vetted by the National Telecommunications and Information Agency (NTIA) during due-diligence of Trillion Communications Corp, BTOP Comprehensive Community Infrastructure Application. As a result of A2D being able to withstand the Federal Government’s review, Trillion was awarded a $59M Grant to implement A2D’s eCommunity Broadband Infrastructure within South Central Alabama.

A2D has perfected our broadband utility model where we are now ready to replicate it throughout America’s unserved and underserved communities. Our primary concentration is the southern black belt region where our goal is to help America meet and exceed their National Broadband Plan to deliver next generational broadband access to 100 Million households by 2020.

The key differentiator between A2D and other firms is the following:

a. Our network design, business model and implementation strategy has been vetted by the Federal Government and is the only one that has been funded that offers a true win-win scenario for both Middle Mile and Last Mile deployments.

b. Our broadband utility business model can be funded by both private and public resources where private investors, community stakeholders, philanthropic organizations, municipal jurisdictions and other governmental agencies can all contribute and yield a return that meets their organization’s stringent funding requirements.

c. Our development process maximizes the network’s inherent fiscal equity to enable flexible financing terms as well as ensure long-term sustainability.

d. Our networks utilize “best of breed” technology from around the world, where we will be able to continue to meet the growing bandwidth needs of our interconnected service providers and community stakeholders. We will always remain equipment agnostic, allowing A2D to continue to evaluate and implement the right technology versus being dictated by a technology provider.

e. Our broadband utility is integrated with a community initiative designed to leverage the inherent capability of our networks to ensure that everyone has access to the digital resources they need, until they can afford the retail services they want. A2D is the only broadband utility that ensures universal access. As a result, our networks, which will be owned and/or influenced by our community stakeholders, will always be on, and always available to everyone.

As a broadband utility, A2D is ready to help you eradicate the digital divide within your community.
